The Narciso Martinez Conjunto Festival 2004 en San Benito, Texas "The Center of The Universe"
"It was like going back in time where it all began. The wailing of the accordion echoed throughout San Benito brining back the ghosts del pasado. It was here where it all began in the 1930s with the father of conjunto Narciso Martinez El Huracan Del Valle. Nothing fancy, just puro conjunto, puro corazon, y gente amable. Indeed refreshing to my soul.
Even if it rains - bailamos!
"Lets go to Progresso, Mexico - just a few miles south of Weslaco. We can stop by La Feria o Mercedes. Vamonos, el festival will start at 4pm. Enough time para regresar....mucho spanglish!"
Indeed a memorable moment when Oscar Hernandez (chromatic), Joel Guzman ( Baffetti) , and Juan Tejeda (Hohner) did an impromptu jam on stage. Fire was coming out of those accordions.
