The Electric Bajo is becoming one of the most popular instrument in the Tex-Mex and Norteño scene. Mr. Jimenez also custom makes the Electric Bajo to your specifications.
El maestro Layo Jimenez has been making bajo sextos and quinto bajos for over twenty five years. As a former conjunto musician from Santa Rosa, Texas, Mr. Jimenez knows and understands the bajo. Each bajo sexto is made to achieve optimal quality in craftsmanship and sound.
These fine quality bajo sextos and quinto bajos are made from the finest woods with neck reinforcement made out of tempered aluminum. For the back and sides, Mr. Jimenez uses Indian Rosewood, Claro Walnut, and Mahogany. For the top, Sitka Spruce and Western Red Cedar. Other exotic woods can be used such as the Brazilian Rosewood. Mr. Jimenez will custom make your bajo to your own personal needs.
